BTS PASTORAL LETTER 18 May 2020
Text: Psalm 11
Dear Brethren,
MEDITATION
To The Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
11 In the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2 For look! The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
Psalm 11:1-3
OBSERVATION AND INTERPRETATION

b) This was also his declaration
2. Advice given

Like a bird that flies away to safety, the farther the better!

e) The foundations of the righteous
i) They seem to be weak
ii) They seem to be destroyed by the wicked
f) A sense of despair
i) It seems hopeless
ii) Everything seems to fall apart
4. What can the righteous do indeed?
a) He can choose:
i) He is not a bird that is afraid
ii) He is a man who can choose not to fear the enemy
c) He can choose to believe God
i) God is a shield Psalm 3:3
ii) That God hears the prayers of the godly Psalm 3:4; Psalm 4:3
